Ossur Resolve Halo system

Following Depuy / Johnson & Johnsons decision to remove the Bremer Halo system from the market, by the end of 2017, it has been necessary, to source and train all clinical team members throughout the Orthotic Centre group, in an alternative system.

Orthotic Active in liaison with Ossur Ltd are happy to host a day’s training here at the 616 clinic for all Orthotic Centre clinical team members.

Halo systems are a class 2 medical device and part of the emergency management of cervical spine fractures, the team will be instructed in the application and protocols set down by Ossur Ltd, and the implementation to replace the previous systems, used throughout New Zealand.

As part of our DHB clinical services, our team will be ready as they are now to confidently aid the emergency surgical teams in the treatment of these cases from any of our six national branches, and their outreach services.

The days training will be hosted by Ossur Ltd, and introduce Mr. Gavin Burchall, Senior Orthotist at the Alfred Hospital Melbourne, who has been using the new Ossur RESOLVE® HALO immobilization system
